Dear friends,
Welcome to our new look website, which coincides with our 8th anniversary. Double Dorjee was established in 2003 and despite the current financial climate, we are still bringing you fine quality Tibetan cultural and Dharma items from the Tibetan Refugees and the Himalayan regions. We are based in the historical, 102 years old Pike place Market which is nation's oldest public market in the heart of seattle, which is surrounded by ocean and mountains. Double Dorjee is Tibetan family owned small business also represent market's Tibetan cultural ambasador.Due to the very detailed nature of Buddhist iconography and the importance of the underlying symbology, it is necessary to thoroughly check that the quality and details of each item are iconographically correct. This is often overlooked in the marketplace, so we try our very best to hand select each product in our inventory. This can be time consuming, but should give you greater confidence in what we have to offer. many countries are producing vast quantities of poorly made Dharma goods, to satisfy the increasing demand for Buddhist items. As a result of this, these lesser quality goods are now appearing in shops and meditation centres throughout the West. With this in mind, we go to great lengths to source the best items currrently available, and are always looking to find even better.
We are located down under the Fish throwing guys and opposite to the Polish pottery.

Double Dorjee or Viswa Vajra. When two thunderbolts are crossed it is called a Viswa Vajra. In Buddhist Tantra the word generally disignates Sunya or Void which cannot be cut, can not be destroyed but which destroys all evils. double thunderbolt has four heads representing the four dhyani Buddhas of the four directions namely, Amoghasiddhi for north, Akshobhya, who presides over the east, Ratnasambhava, lord of the south, and Amitabha who reigns over the west. It is the emblem of the crossed vajra that is inscribed upon the metal base that is used to seal deity statues after they have been consecrated.
